How the Fight Finally Got Made
Fury and Joshua agreed a two-fight deal back in 2020. It collapsed when an arbitration ruling forced Fury into a third fight with Deontay Wilder. Joshua then lost his belts to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021 and lost the rematch in 2022. Fury also lost twice to Usyk in 2024.
Both men rebuilt in 2026. Fury came out of retirement and outpointed Arslanbek Makhmudov in London in April, then stopped Mariusz Wach in Thailand. Joshua beat Jake Paul in December 2025, then survived two first-round knockdowns to stop Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia in July. The Cardiff date was confirmed in late September. Tickets
All tickets for the 80,000-capacity stadium sold out in about an hour on October 9. Face values ranged from £88.50 to £13,128 including fees. If you still want to attend, use only official resale channels and avoid sellers on social media. See our tickets guide.
Who Wins: Fury or Joshua?
Fury brings height, reach and awkward movement. At his best he controls range with the jab and tires bigger punchers out. Joshua has the heavier single shots and more knockouts, but he has been dropped in recent fights. The key question is whether Joshua can land clean before Fury settles into his rhythm.
